Come listen as we hear from Mandy McClellan about an avoidable water disaster they had at the Central Utah Water Conservancy District records room last November. She’ll talk about what could have been done to avoid this mess and what was done to ensure that no records were lost. Be prepared to learn about some good emergency preparedness strategies for your area!

Who is Mandy McClellan?  Mandy has worked with Central Utah Water Conservancy District for 18 years in all capacities in the Records Department.  She has been the Records and Information Manager for 6 years and is always striving to grow her knowledge of all things records management.  With the passage of the 2024 Privacy legislation, Mandy has also taken on the task of building a Privacy Program for the District. What is Central Utah Water Conservancy District? CUWCD’s primary responsibility is to deliver clean, useable water to our customers by managing the vast Central Utah Project (CUP) and District network of water facilities. For more information go to their website.

October 2024 – Tim Medin

Join us to learn about Data Security! Tim Medin, CEO of Red Siege, will be joining us virtually to talk us through different aspects of Data Security and how we can protect our data!

Who is Tim Medin? Tim spent more than a dozen years teaching thousands of students as Senior Instructor and course author of SEC560: Enterprise Penetration Testing at The SANS Institute. Through the course of his career, Tim has performed penetration tests on a wide range of organizations and technologies. Tim has gained information security experience in a variety of industries including previous positions in control systems, higher education, financial services, and manufacturing. Tim is an experienced international speaker, having presented to organizations around the world. Tim is the creator of the Kerberoasting, a widely utilized Red Team penetration test technique to extract kerberos tickets in order to offline attack the password of enterprise service accounts. Tim earned his MBA through the University of Texas and recently completed an eMBA equivalent through Harvard Business School. Visit his LinkedIn!
