We hope everyone had a great summer and are excited to get to see you all again! To start off our year Terri Scovill, our Membership Director, will be presenting with her team about a SharePoint project that has been completed at Autoliv. She says, ” We believe that email is transitory in nature and that there is a small percentage that rises to the level of a record. We also know that, in general, there is only one person that accesses an email account, so if they left, there wasn’t any idea what they had in their email. We developed a system where a manager can request an email storage SharePoint location for their team, based on the applicable record codes which allows the team to move items that are records and have it available to the right people.” Come ready to ask questions! We’re excited to see everyone!

This month for our annual service activity, we will assist in sorting Weber County property tax records at the State Archives. Weber County recently digitized their property tax files, resulting in over 500 boxes of paper records being sent to the State Archives. Unfortunately, the records were not organized after digitization, leaving the Archives with a significant task of sorting and organizing them. Enter our chapter! We will be helping to organize these records, while socializing and enjoying working together! Additionally, tours of the State Archives will be available for those interested in exploring this fascinating facility. Hope to see you there!

What will Mark be presenting? “Creating a Modern, Compliant, and Easier to Execute Records Retention Schedule” Many record retention schedules started from within hardcopy, paper-based records programs. Yet today more than 95% of the documents organizations create or receive are sourced in digital format. Programs based on paper-centric record retention schedules are much more difficult to execute and ensure compliance, when electronic information is the dominant format. Is your retention schedule in need of an update? In this webinar, Contoural will discuss how organizations can create modern and more compliant records retention schedules that better handle both paper and especially electronic information. Contoural will also cover how to privacy-enable your schedule.
