From Records to Health Information: What RIM Professionals Can Learn from Healthcare’s Information Governance Journey

Healthcare and records management professionals face many of the same challenges, including governance, retention, privacy, compliance, data quality, and lifecycle management. This interactive session will explore the similarities and differences between Health Information Management (HIM) and Records and Information Management (RIM), highlighting lessons learned from healthcare’s information governance evolution that can be applied across industries.

Attendees will gain practical insights into governance strategies, information stewardship, digital transformation, and emerging trends such as AI governance. Participants will leave with actionable ideas and real-world examples to help strengthen information governance programs within their own organizations.
